Stroll the seaside promenade, the Malecon, to the strains of ranchera music played by mariachi bands. If there's time, head an hour out of town to the wineries of the Valle de Guadalupe, which open their vineyards and cellar doors for tours. Back in Ensenada, the tastings on offer are of Mexico's favorite spirit at the Tequila Room.

Day 4 - Cabo San Lucas (Baja California Sur), Mexico
|
Located on the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is the famed beach destination known for its atmospheric scene and idyllic setting. Step into the beating heart of Baja Peninsula, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular panorama of azure water, rugged cliffs, golden sands, and dramatic desert landscapes.

Day 9 - San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
|
San Juan del Sur, on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, woos travelers and surfers alike with its colorful, 19th-century clapboard houses and crescent of silver sand. Once a sleepy fishing village, it's now a party town, watched over by Cristo de la Misericordia, a towering statue of Christ - hike to it up the hillside or, for a less strenuous walk, just go as far as the peach-and-white San Juan Bautista church.
